Test 2&3

February 15th, 2010

I have done some testing the past few weekends.  Even was able to cook a butt today using the new controller.  I think I have most of the hardware bugs worked out.  I am going to work on the final hardware design this week.  The software still has a bit to go.  I need to work on the control system.  Right now temps are too unstable…  about 10deg swings.  Although this is with NO tuning, just simple on/off first try.  Hopefully another test next weekend will be better.

    Hi Ryan,

You are really going well now. I can’t believe you have it down to only a 10 degree swing. Terrific!!! That butt looks mighty good too. By the way, is that a Frog Mat you are using under that meat?

Stay focused and have a great time.

    As always,

    Don O

Thanks for the support. I hope to be only to 2 deg swing ultimately.

Of course, frogmats all the way!

    Ryan,

Just stumbled on your site, looking for something exactly like this! How is the development going? This last post makes it look like you were nearly finished. I’m highly interested in a unit if you ever get it finished off.

    Cheers,
    Doug

I just found this – I am in full support of this – if you get it working put me on the list for at least 1 of these!!
    They will sell like hotcakes.
I would also be happy to be a tester for you in needed (I can provide deposit $ etc).
Ever think of using an iPod Touch as your interface for the touch screen – built in wifi etc
    Great work!

Thank guys! Yes it is still in the works, but unfortunately I only have a few hours a week to work on it, so it is very slow going.

I am looking for engineers and developers to try and speed up the process!

I will try to post some major updates on the site as to the progress.

    Thanks for the support!
